Henry® Self-Adhered & Fluid-Applied Water Resistive Air Barriers Earn Living Building Challenge Declare “Red List Free” Status

At Henry®, our mission is Building Confidence―the assurance to our customers that Henry solutions are top-quality and can be trusted to meet the highest industry standards, throughout the building envelope.

That mission includes continual improvement of building energy efficiency, livability and sustainability, to benefit owner, occupants…and our environment. Aligned with this mission, Henry is honored to note that seven Henry air barrier systems and three Henry waterproofing membranes have been awarded the highest-level Declare label – LBC Red List Free – by the International Living Future Institute (ILFI). Declare, a voluntary, self-disclosed program, enables Henry to demonstrate its leadership in product ingredient transparency and accountability, and its commitment to producing healthier products.

Declaration Status: LBC Red List Free is the highest achievable Declare status available to a manufacturer. The Red List, which designates worst-in-class materials used in the building industry, has become the industry standard to identify chemical ingredients that pollute the environment, bio-accumulate up the food chain until they reach toxic levels, or harm factory workers.

How to Read the Declare Label

  • Product & Manufacturing Information: the top portion of the label helps specifiers confirm they are specifying the product that matches the ingredients list.
  • Ingredients Reporting: ingredients without restriction are listed in gray.
  • Living Building Challenge Criteria: LBC Red List Free status is indicated.

Declare is approved as a compliance pathway for LEED v4 and permits the use of Henry products in projects pursuing the ILFI’s Living Building Challenge standard, one of the most advanced green building standards in the world. Learn more about the Living Building Challenge.
