Can-Do Guide®: Driveway Maintenance

Cleaning & Repairing Your Driveway

  1. Sweep off dust, dirt, and loose stones. Cut back the grass or weeds on edges and remove from cracks. Hose the area and sweep away puddles.
  2. Scrub oil and grease spots with detergent and a stiff wire brush. Rinse and let dry.
  3. Repair small cracks up to 1/2" wide with Henry® Crack Filler. Apply direct from handy applicator bottle or cartridge, filling to surface level.
  4. Repair larger cracks over 1/2" wide with       Henry 304 Patching Mix.
  5. Fill potholes 2" wide or larger with Henry 304 Patching Mix. Remove loose debris and fill just above surface using trowel or shovel. Compact mix by tamping or driving on it.

IMPORTANT: Allow all patching and repair products to completely cure before applying driveway sealer.

Choosing the Right Driveway Sealer

For the longest lasting, maintenance-free protection; for sloped driveways that need added traction; or for old, rough driveways:
Choose Henry 532 Driveway Resurfacer. Its exclusive, NO STIR gel formula not only fills in cracks up to 1/8" wide and deep, but it also saves you time. Henry 532 is highly resistant to oil and grease, provides superior traction, and lasts 6+ years! It restores and beautifies your driveway, giving it a rich black color in one easy coat.

For an odorless application that provides the best coverage rate:
Choose Henry PM2000 Driveway Sealer/Filler. Its rubberized, asphalt emulsion formula is easy to clean up with soap and water, can cover 250 to 500 square feet per pail, and lasts 4+ years.

Sealing Your Driveway
IMPORTANT: The weather must be over 50°F, and dry for two straight days. Wait 48 hours minimum before driving on coating—longer if humidity or dew is high. Over-application of product may result in product not drying, leading to tracking, uneven color, or smell. Apply in the morning to get a full day's drying time and warmer temperatures.

To seal your driveway with Henry 532:

  1. Mist the driveway and sweep excess water out of depressions.
  2. Apply Henry 532 with a squeegee only—not a brush or roller—in order to push the aggregate down into cracks and irregularities. This will help fill in cracks up to 1/8", as well as provide improved traction. Henry 532 should be applied no thicker than 8 mls (approx. the thickness of a dime). Two thin coats are vastly superior to one thick coat! First coat must weather until water no longer beads on the surface before applying a second coat (usually 4 to 6 weeks in summer conditions).

To seal your driveway with Henry PM2000:

  1. Mix thoroughly with a wooden paddle in a circular, bottom to top fashion.
  2. Apply Henry PM2000 with the brush side of a squeegee, or roller. For best appearance, work in a 3 or 4 foot area, brushing in a cross pattern so all pores are filled. In hot weather, mist surface and sweep away puddles before application.
